For the flower medallions, I cut each at a different width, but all are are 12” long and scored at 1/4” all across.  I fan folded each strip, glued the ends together and adhered with Tomboy Mono Adhesive to a 1/2” punched circle.  I added the brads and adhered to my card the same way.   My leaves are punched with the Blossom Petals Die.

Flowers and Doilies today…

You know me well, I had to it.  I am so glad doilies are so trendy right now.  I absolutely love them all!!!

Silhouette Doily, Butterfly, Mulberry Flowers, Carla's Scraps (2)

My computer was infected with a Malware Virus that included me having to replace my computer.  I am finally up and running with the new one.   I don’t think I’ve owned a computer that lasted over two years.  Either it just quit or a virus got me.  One time a download from Microsoft took my computer out and they wouldn’t even give me a dime to replace mine because I didn’t run the current operating system that was on the market, even though the download was for my OS!  Go figure that one out.  *still shakin my head*

Here’s my supplies for today’s card…Carla's Scraps

  • Whisper White Cardstock
  • Concord Crush Cardstock
  • Cheerful Treat DSP (Hostess Section)
  • Embossing Folder unknown
  • Lacy Circle Die, Nestibilities
  • Doily, Silhouette
  • Mulberry Flowers
  • Basic Pearls

Until I recover some of my files from my old computer, I won’t have my signature in my post.  Unless of course I take the time to create a new one.  But, I don’t see that happening in the new weeks.  If ya need me, email me!!!

Hugs, Carla

PPA 103 Sketch Challenge

Are you ready for a fabulous sketch challenge by Margaret Moody?

  dg3cmmcf_104hnt2jjdr_b

I wanted to use Rich Razzleberry this week.  I incorporated some new, some old and one of my favorite retired items for this weeks challenge.

PPA 103, Floral Fillers, Fancy Flower Punch, Bigz Perfect Pendants, Carla's Scraps, SUO

I didn’t want to waste a good Medallion stamped image, so I cut mine in half, saving the other for another project.  I just love this color combo, its from page 124 in the IBC.  PPA 103, Floral Fillers, Fancy Flower Punch, Bigz Perfect Pendants, Carla's Scraps, SUO (2)

In the above photo you can see the flower I added to the inside.  I really like how this card turned out.  I nearly didn’t add the butterfly and the silver gems, but I’m soooo glad I did.  Mom said, it really added to it.  *smile*

This is a short post today, I’m fighting a malware virus in this computer.  I’m hoping it’ll upload this post for me... ????  My computer keeps shutting down right in the middle of everything.  I have my netbook, but its sooooo tiny to view and work on.

My Lemonade Stand

I found this awesome paper at work by Little Yellow Bicycle, which reminded of my lemonade stand when I was just a little thing.  A couple of guys from Cilco that used to eat lunch at my Nana’s cafĂ©, built it for me and I just loved it and actually made some money that I spent at Velma’s Variety Store.  She had a table full of penny candy!!!  So I had to create a card...
Carla's Scraps, Little Yellow Bicycle, Lemonade Stand, Memory Box Dies
I cut out 2 lemonade stands from the paper and pop dotted them together and then popped them on the card too.  I created the flowers from various punches and the Sweet Summertime Memories is a little kit that goes with the paper, which had ugly little blue flowers that I covered with my white ones.
I created the my little flags by folding some Whisper White in half and using the tail end of my star punch.  The 5 cent sign is the SU itty bitty punches.  The ‘rope’ is SU’s White Bakers Twine.
My lemonade glasses are from Debbie’s tutorial at Debbie’s Designs.  I used her tutorial, but cut my vellum at 1/2” square.  Tiny!!!  Thank you Deb!!!  Plus I spent 5.99 for the chunky glitter just for my little lemonade glasses.  Isn’t that silly!!!
I had such a blast making my easel card.  Those memories were the best, when we were young and had no worries!  I hope you enjoy it too.
Supplies:Carla's Scraps, Little Yellow Bicycle, Lemonade Stand, Memory Box Dies
  • Little Yellow Bicycle Paper, Sweet Summertime Lemonade Stand and Sweet Summertime Glitter Fire Flies
  • Daffodil Delight and Whisper White Cardstock
  • Various Flower Punches for Flowers
  • Star Punch for Banner
  • Itty Bitty Punches for 5 cent sign
  • Justrite Stamps From the Kitchen:  Sentiment
  • Memory Box Dies:  Loop Border and Whimsy Circle
  • Gems from my stash
My square easel card fits in the padded SU Envelope.  Of course, I’m not giving this one a way.  *smile*  Its going in my scrapbook.
I hope those of you that went to Convention had a truly awesome time!!!  I envy each of you!!!  My Copic class was amazing.  I unlearnt everything I thought I knew about copics and relearned the right way.  lol  I’m practicing!!!

PPA 102 Fashion Inspiration Challenge

Summer Time and the Livin' is Easy
The Pals Paper Arts Fashion Inspiration Challenge this is “Summer Time and the Livin’ is Easy”.   Please join guest designer Rae Harper and the Design Team and upload your Summer time card!
I created my card taking the blue and white, while adding a bit of yellow.  Of course, I had to use Stampin’ UP’s On the Grow!  Don’t ya just love that set.  Its so fun and versatile.
I hope you enjoy.
Here’s my card...
PPA 102, Summertime, On The Grow, Carla's Scraps (7)
I added a bit of Flower Soft to my basket of flowers and I love it.  Its so fun and easy to work with.  I’m surprised mine isn’t molded, I’ve had it for ages and never liked it much.  Since working at Scrapadoodle I have found out that I was using way too much of it and it clumped instead of highlighting the flower.  After it dries, it doesn’t go anywhere and you can even rub on top of it.
PPA 102, Summertime, On The Grow, Carla's Scraps (3)
I added a bit of 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon in Daffodil Delight to set off my Daffodil Delight Button, which is paired with the Daffodil Delight basket.  I just ran a piece of ribbon thru the holes and snipped the ends off at an angle, the clear mini dot holds the button and ribbon in place.  You could use a bit of glue too.  I then topped the button with a gem to match the others.
Supplies...PPA 102, Summertime, On The Grow, Carla's Scraps (8)
  • On the Grow
  • Marina Mist and Whisper White Cardstock
  • Daffodil Delight Cardstock
  • Marina Mist DSP
  • Swiss Dots Embossing Folder
  • Daffodil Delight Button

  • Coloring:  SU Markers and Colored Pencils

Vellum Flowers from the Heart

Before I get to my card, I would like to thank everyone for your awesome comments.  I so appreciate them and they mean so much to me.  I have not replied individually to you, but I hope by visiting your blog you know that I truly care!!!  It seems like the easy way out to thank everyone in a post and I so appreciate your patience with me.
My neck is better, not 100%, but work is awesome.  We had this amazing retreat for Scrapbookers in which 30 gals were there for 2 days.  I had a blast waiting on them!!!  What a fun, fun group!  Carrie had snacks, meals, drinks, kits and prizes, plus the gals each worked on there own projects.  I hope I get to work lots of them.  I sure never went home from Michaels without needing a nap!  Yesterday I so full of energy, I wanted to make something when I got home.  I didn’t, I just reveled in the notion I wasn’t stressed or tired.  lol
Anyway... you remember the Vellum Flowers I did previously?  Well, you know me I had to do more.  I used a new die from Marianne Designs.  Its called Marianne Designs Designables Punch and Emboss Frame.  I fell in love with the cutouts within the die.  I couldn’t find it locally so I ordered mine from the UK.  I was really surprised shipping isn’t anymore than if it came from out of state.Break Away Monday, Marianne Designables - Frame, Vellum Flowers, Punch Art Vellum Flowers, Carla's Scraps (2)

PPA 101 Celebrity Color Challenge

Pals Paper Arts has the summertime blues!  And you have the cure!  All you have to do is create a card usingPPA 101and link it up at the PPA! Join Celebrity Guest Artist Lesley Croghan and the PPA Design Team as we cure our summertime blues!

PPA 101, Monochromatic, Blossom Bouquet Punch, Doily Triple Layer Punch, Carla's Scraps (2)

I’ve been wanting to create with the new punches, Blossom Bouquet and the Doily Triple Layer.  Since monochromatic is one of my favorites I decided this was the challenge to use them.

I created three fancy flowers.  I used the last 2 layers of the Doily Triple Layer punch for the background and the foreground is the first layer of the Blossom Bouquet Punch.  I added dimension by scoring the back two layers between and thru each petal and the front petal, I just pushed the center down into a pc of foam with my stylus and added a white pearl center.  PPA 101, Monochromatic, Blossom Bouquet Punch, Doily Triple Layer Punch, Carla's Scraps (4)
