Welcome to the Pals Paper Arts Fashion Inspiration Challenge, Easter Bonnets ( things that are Spring and/or Easter). Rae Harper joins the PPA Design Team as guest artist this week to welcome spring!
Use this lovely Easter bonnet as your inspiration for a spring or Easter/Spring design.

I wanted soft, spring colors for my card today. I created the flower using the Blossom Petals Punch and Pink Piroutte DSP. Distressing with Pink Piroutte and a Sponge Dauber for a bit of depth.

The frame was made by cutting out the inside rectangle on my trimmer. The layers are Pink Pirouette on Pretty in Pink.
NOTE: This tutorial is part of my Scallop Frame Tutorial, so use your own dimensions. My card is not the tutorials dimensions. I made my frame to fit my finished flower. Use the dimensions in the tutorial for a practice run using copy paper.
The first layer is in the first photo... the Night of Navy one, cut as shown.

Using a piece of scrap, cut it to the dimensions you’d like your cut out to be. This will be placed, centered over your Night of Navy pc below. Draw with a pencil with a light hand all around it. Your going to cut a hole that size into your Night of Navy Cardstock.

Here I am lining it up in my Cutter...
See the arrows pointing out, left and right on that orange thing? Line up the cutting blade on the cut line and the orange arrow line to your pencil lines and cut. Go ahead, do it. You can practice on a pc of computer paper first if ya want. It looks hard, but those arrows really do line up exactly with your pencil lines. Be sure to stop cutting when the arrow lines up with the next pencil line that you drew. Now, wasn’t that easy. It scared me the first time I did it. But, it came out perfect. Now on the back side, add double stick tape, I’m using Scor Pal tape because its strong and you can tear it with your fingers. You can use the Sticky Strip tape too. After one, you will be able to see where to cut and won’t need the center piece anymore.

Here’s how the flowers fit together before the little green leaves were attached. All the petals look as though they come from the center and it reminds me of a Chrysanthemum, without all the additional layers. I did a little folding back and forth of the petals to get some lines in them.
Ever wanted to know how to spell Chrysanthemums... it’s the abbreviation for Chrysler + an + the + mums. Chrysleranthemums = Chrysanthemums. My dad taught me that years ago... didn’t even know what a Chrysanthemum looked like at the time. It one of those things that just stick with ya.
Here’s how I finished the inside...
