Its a Jolly Holiday Christmas

I thought I’d write up a quick post and show you a picture of all the Christmas Cards I made using the Jolly Holiday DSP.  I’ve posted each one individually, but I thought they looked so cool all grouped together.  I hope you do, too.

Jolly Holiday Christmas Cards 2010 P

Actually, I been in a slump lately.  I have all those Antibacterial and Lotion Holders to finish and I just can’t get into it.  I even tried making a “purple” card and I have had no luck at all with that.  I even paid full price for a cardmaking magazine.  That was worthless.  I’ve colored until I’m blue in the face and nothing  helps!!!  I surfed and surfed the blog world.  Everything I seen was gorgeous, did that help?  Nope.  So, I thought I’ll post about it and then maybe get some sympathy and then I’ll feel better.  *smile*

I just hate it when creativity dries up.  What do you do to get your mojo back?  Leave me a comment and let me know, I’ll try anything!!!

Oh, wanna see a cat fight?  Annie’s in the back and Ricky is sittin’ in front...

IMGP2513

Ricky decided he wanted to lay on the table too.

IMGP2511

Annie says that ain’t happen!  But if you notice he’s gettin’ in position to get her.

IMGP2510

Yup, there he goes, he’s in such big trouble.

IMGP2509

Annie says, it’s my turn big boy!!!

IMGP2508

Yeah, thats Annie on top.

IMGP2507

Ricky says, I don’t like that little girl, IMGP2506

I’m out of here!!!

My battery went dead in the camera right after the above shot, or you’d of seen Annie taking a bath, all alone.  Ain’t nobody gonna win a fight with her.  They are such a hoot.  Annie and Ricky are brother and sister.  Annie’s the one that likes to get in on the picture taking of my cards.

I hope you leave me a comment and let me know how you get your mojo back, I’d love that.  Make it an awesome day!!!  Hugs,

PPA 70 Sketch Challenge

Happy Thanksgiving!!!  Welcome to the PPA Sketch Challenge.   Our sketch this weeks comes from our very own, very talented Margaret Moody.

 PPA 70

I ended up creating the same card twice, tweaking just a bit here or there, but in different colors.  I decided to take a break from making Christmas Cards and make a couple cards for my granddaughters, Paige and Gabby.  I wanted girly, girl cards for today.

PPA 70 Sketch Challenge (3)

The red and pink is for Paige, and the blue is for Gabby.

I used retired DSP so I could have crisp, white cards.  I hope you don’t mind.  I really miss those retired DSP’s in the.  There was so much you could do with them.  Plus I love white.

I do have a question of the day for you... Are you buying yourself a Christmas Gift this year?  Will it be something personal or for your cardmaking?  I have bought myself a new purse for Christmas (for the past couple years), wrapped it and signed it... to my ever loving wife, you are awesome, sweet, kind and wonderful.  You have my heart forever!   Love, Steve.  Well not this year.  We have a local jewelry store, that makes Eternity Bracelets.  They hand make each one with your old gold/stone or theirs.  Then they solder it on your wrist so it never comes off.  I am getting myself one this year.  I have 2 rings I never wear anymore and a stone from a necklace, so I’m half way there.  I am so excited!!!  I think I’ll sign this one from the kids.  *smile*

Here’s four of them, from left to right is Annie, Molly, Ricky and Tommy.  You’d think they’d nap long ways on the table...   IMGP2382

This is Sweetpea in the catnip, isn’t she cute!!!

CAS Christmas Cards

I wanted to share a couple CAS Christmas Cards I made last week.  They aren’t entirely SU, but you could do them that way.  Just a little embossing, stamping and a bit of layering and they’re done.

I used Lovely As A Tree for the first one.  It does have Dazzling Diamonds on the tree, it was cloudy and dreary the day I took the pictures and they just didn’t come out.  I took pictures of the cards individually, this one was the only one that took.

For the second one, I used a Branch Stamp from my dear friend, Kelly in Missouri, and the ornament is from the Tree Trimmings Set.  I think I’ll add some Dazzling Diamonds to the branch too.  The more I look at it, I think it needs a bit of sparkle.

Christmas Cards 2010 (9)

The next Christmas Card is from the Bells & Boughs Set.  I wanted to have a different color combination, so I went with Baja Breeze and Cherry Cobbler.  I absolutely love this combination.  I think I’m going to finish my Antibacterial Soap Holders in this combination, too.

Christmas Cards 2010 (8)

For the Bells, I stamped 3 images, coloring in the first one in entirely.  I then colored the bow in with Baja Breeze Marker on the second image, cut it out and layered it on the first image with pop dots.  I colored in the leaves on the third image and layered it onto the bow with another layer of pop dots.  I then poured on a layer of Crystal Effects over the bells.

All three of the insides have the sentiment from the Occasional Quotes Set that says... Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.   The sentiment is layered just as the front of each card.

I really like these cards, something completely different than all the ones I’ve made with the Jolly Holiday DSP.  Actually, I like these better.

Here’s my supply list...Christmas Cards 2010 (9)

Christmas Poinsettia with Jolly Holiday DSP

I found this Poinsettia at Connie’s Inkspired Treasures.  She created her Poinsettia from the stamp set French Foliage.  I don’t have that set, so I used the ones in the picture below.
The one leaf is from SU Autumn Leaf Prints, retired.  The other is one I bought from Michaels a long time back, which I call a Rose Leaf.  Christmas Cards 2010 (2)
I don’t think I’d of seen a Poinsettia in those two stamps.   I’m sure glad Connie did because it is so beautiful.  I had to add a bit of green to the center, just for fun.  I wanted a big Cherry Cobbler bow, but I went with the button since SU doesn’t have Cherry Cobbler Ribbon.
Christmas Cards 2010 (3)
I stamped 12 images of the Michaels leaf stamp in Cherry Cobbler on Real Red Textured Cardstock, cut out the top leaf of each and layered them around a 1 1/4” punched circle.  I then stamped 2 of the Autumn Prints leaf in Old Olive on Old Olive Textured Cardstock, cut them out and placed them behind the petals.
Christmas Cards 2010 (4)

I hope I’ve inspired you to create a Poinsettia or two.  Hugs to all.
