Chocolate Easter Bunny

223 CLB

I just love the Chocolate Bunny from the Occasions Mini.  It is soooo cute.  The bunny on the front of the card was stamped on Close to Cocoa Cardstock with Chocolate Chip Ink and then I added a layer of Crystal Effects.  The image below, on the inside of the card, I stamped the image onto Close to Cocoa Textured Cardstock with Close to Cocoa Ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder and I then colored over that image with a Chocolate Chip Marker and wiped the ink off the embossing powder with a paper towel.  It added the depth to the background.  I really like the last one better.  Try them and see which one you like better.  I tried to get a picture of the detail of the bottom one, but I couldn’t do it.  The bunny on the front is mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals as is the label.

Just wanted to chat a minute

Hey everyone, nothing creative to post today.  Busy with the house and making appointments for everyone.  Mom needs her med check appointment, so I made one for me too.  Then, I actually decided I am going to let someone else cut my hair.  Oh my.  So I made an appointment with a gal that comes into Michaels for this coming Wednesday.  I’m going to get the same hair cut, just have her clean it up my mess.  Its been close to 15 years that I’ve let someone else cut my hair.  I cut my own.  Thank heaven it grows fast.  Maybe I’ll have a new profile pic.  *smile*  I doubt that.

I am being so entertained by the kids today.  Joey is reaching for the toy that he batted into Yogi, Sammy, center, wondering what's gonna happen and Yogi smelling the toy.  Yogi ended up with the toy under his paw... I wasn’t fast enough with the camera to get the pic.  They are a hoot.  Joey is actually up Yogi’s you know what, and Yogi doesn’t mind a bit.  Joey talks and talks to Yogi and before long Yogi gets up and off they go.  They’ve done that since Joey was a just a kitten.  I wonder, what do they think they’re doing?  Then if you believe in Re-incarnation, just who are they and should I know them?    Scary thought.DSCF4190

Lets see, upcoming things that I’m working on for my blog is the March Pals Blog Hop, we are featuring Easter and Spring.  I’m promising myself to get it done early rather than last minute.  *smile*  I’m going to be a featured stamper on someone else’s blog... its a surprise right now.  I don’t know if I’m allowed to brag or not... I’ll find out.  *smile*   The Pals Paper Arts challenge is coming up on Thursday, so be sure to check that out.  I do have one Easter Card done, just haven’t taken the pictures yet, its using the new Chocolate Bunny Stamp that’s in the Occasions Mini.  I’ll post that tomorrow.

Well, its now lunch time.  All the appointments are made, the house is in pretty good shape except for the kitchen.  So I guess I’ll go have lunch, finish the kitchen and catch All My Children.  Thanks for dropping in today... see you all tomorrow.  *smile*  Be sure to email me if ya need anything or click my shop now button above.  Hugs,

Thank You Kris!!!

I received this lovely card in the mail yesterday from my Pal and Friend Kris from Kween Bee Kreations

from Kris

from Kris (2)

How sweet and kind of her to take the time.  If you are familiar with her blog, you know her family is going thru so much right now.  Her Mom is fighting Breast Cancer.  So for Kris and her family please add her to your prayers and remember get your Breast Exams regularly.

Thank you Kris!!!!   I was so pleasantly surprised when the mail came yesterday.  Isn’t Kris’ card beautiful.  And what perfect timing to get a terrific card.  I’m getting a tad tired of gum and mints.   Food just makes ya want a cigarette... go figure.  I still have the worse cravings in my Studio, I’m fine sitting and watching TV though.  I get thru 3 hour naps with no problem!!!  Could be a tad edgy today too, Mom would call me ‘testy’.  *smile*  I am surprised that the nicotine addiction is still this strong.

Better run, make it a terrific day.  Hugs to all!!!

One of my favorite flower stamps

is Morning Soft (retired) and since I have been in the coloring mood, I decided to play with it too.  This image is also colored in with Colored Pencils.FlowersCPencil

I really like how Bashful Blue and Not Quite Navy team together.  After coloring my image, I cut it out and popped it onto a pc of Whisper White.  I chose not to have a traditional mat of Night of Navy underneath and used my Candy Dots to accent the mat as well as the image.  I tried layering a strip of cardstock underneath the image but found the silky look of the ribbon was the needed touch.

I wanted to update those of you that follow along with me on my blog.  Today is Day 20!!!  Whew, the last few days have really been difficult to get thru without smoking.  I don’t understand why it seems to be getting harder... but I am fighting thru it.  Those that know, say oh it gets easier...  yeah right, well it isn’t for me.  But I am enjoying that extra money each week,  *smile*   but it isn’t enough to take the urge away.   So send me those good vibes.  *smile*  I spent yesterday with my son Wes and my awesome granddaughter, Paige.  We went to lunch at Applebee’s and did a few errands.  Those are my favorite kind of days!  My plan is to do some organizing and cleaning in my Studio this morning before heading to work.  So I best get on my way.

Todays supplies include...

Stamp: Retired Morning Soft
Ink: Stazon Jet Black
Cardstock: Whisper White
Bashful Blue
Not Quite Navy

PPA 29 Sketch Challenge

The PPA has a cool sketch challenge this week.  Its designed by our own Margaret Moody6a00e54f95df9288340120a8759cc2970b

Here’s my take on the sketch this week.  I did a manly Valentine for my guy.  *smile*  I am so sure he’ll get me one too.  lol  PPA 29

I created my own scalloped heart border using the Heart to Heart Punch,113694.  Thought it would be a little more masculine than any of the other border punches.

The paper I used today comes from the Simply Scrappin’ Kit, Happy Birthday, 115695.  I added the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes, 115370 and punched with the Word Window Punch, 105090 and layered it onto a pc of Night of Navy Cardstock punched with the Modern Label, 116630.  The center heart is from the Embosslits Scallop Heart of Hearts Die, 117332 available in the Occasions Mini.

I hope you don’t mind my quick post today, as soon as the car is warm I’m outa here to do errands.  I’m a gal on a mission this morning.  Hugs to all.

Kris’ Color Challenge

Kris from Kween Bee Kreations has a wonderful/fun color challenge.  Be sure to check out her blog for all the details.  The colors are purple and yellow.  I would of never thought to put these two Complimentary Colors together without this challenge.  It really took me out of my comfort zone, so I made 2.  *smile*  KBK1 CBzhnw KBK1 CBzhnw (2) KBK1 CBzhnw (3) I made the first one with Rich Razzleberry as the base and thought, what would Whisper White cardstock look like as the base.  So I ended up making two.

KBK1 CBzhnw (4) If you notice the flower, I used the Originals Blossom Party Die and added another layer of petals to the back of the flower so it would be larger and make more of a statement on the card front.  I die cut another flower and then cut the petals apart and attached with an adhesive dot between each petal on the main flower.  The leaves are Old Olive and are the wings of the bird from the 2 Step Bird Punch.

I will definitely use this color combo again and I hope you’ll pop over to Kween Bee Kreations and take Kris up on her challenge.

I finally got to play...

OCCSC1 CLB (2)

in the OCC Weekly Sketch Challenge.  Here’s this weeks sketch...OCCSC1 I always make my cards to flip up to open, so my design is turned a bit. I have seen so many of those little birds on cards, I just had to make one too.  Plus its helping me keep my mind of those nasty, money consuming cigarettes I used to smoke.  *smile*  Today is day #9.

I decided to make a matching envelope, doing it like I’d seen over at Stampin’ Pretty.  Mary is my Upline.  She had a post the other day and had embossed her envelope flap.  I loved that and would of never thought to do it.

I love making cards from others sketches.  You get that extra time to stamp, punch and find just the right touches for your card.

Here’s what I did to the inside.  I love that little extra it gives to your card and I always try to leave a place to sign it.OCCSC1 CLB

PPA Color Challenge 28

and the colors are... dg3cmmcf_76fvdscxdt_bI had a little trouble with these and I do a lot of pink.  PPA 28 Color (2) I should of taken a picture of my card before I covered up the Friends on the front.  I originally did it without a mat and it was stamped in Melon Mambo... then I realized I didn’t have any Pretty in Pink.  I really liked it the other way.  I think now I have too many pinks going on.  But I do have a bottle of Un-du.  *smile*

PPA 28 Color

I used the Lovely Flowers Bundle Hostess Set, Level 3 (Pg. 18) for today's challenge.  The Rub ons really helped me decide the front layout for my card.  Of course the Candy Dots are from my stash.  I hope you head on over to the PPA and upload your colorful creation.  Its so much fun to play at the PPA!!!  Off to Un-du... I’ll post another pic later.   Hugs,
