My Dads Birthday Card

I wanted to show you how easy it is to personalize the Quick ‘n Easy Cards I showed you the other day.  My dad is an avid Golfer, so for the front I decided to use my favorite tree image from Lovely As A Tree Stamp Set.    Dads BDay 10 (2) I used Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery as my color choices for his card, Dads favorite color is blue.  I mean he really likes blue.  He gave my Mom a blue coat for Christmas one year, she hates blue.  She never wore it, so a few years down the road, he decided to re-wrapped it for her at Christmas that year...  oh my, she swore he bought her another blue coat.  The look she gave him... whew.  It said alot.  *smile*  It was so funny and they will never live that down.  Okay, back to the card...

I colored on the rubber using SU Markers in Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Certainly Celery and Old Olive, giving the stamp a big huff of hot air and walla... there’s the image.  I did go back and touch up some of the branches within the leaves with Chocolate Chip using the fine end of the marker.

I centered the Vintage Brads on the front of the card, using SU’s Mat Pack #105826.Dads BDay 10 I covered the backs of the brads using more Bashful Blue DSP on the inside and added my images.  My golfer is matted and adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The inside silver dots are just adhesive backed gems.  The Sentiment on top is stamped while the other is created using my Word program and the SU RGB codes.  If you’d like the RGB Codes for the SU Colors, they are located in my Sidebar.  I depend so much on those codes.   Here’s my supplies...

PPA 27 Snowflakes

PPA 27 (2)

I love Navy and shiny Silver, so thats where I started at with the PPA Snowflake Theme.  This card is so easy to make... you’ll have it done in no time.  Its the messy glitter clean up that takes up your time.  *smile*

The first thing I did was to take my Simple Snowflake Stamp #115554 and add SU 2 Way Glue #100425 onto the rubber and stamp on Night of Navy Cardstock and sprinkle with Fine Silver Glitter #114286.  I stamped and sprinkled 4 images.  Be sure to clean your rubber stamp right away.  While letting those dry, I punched out my corners with the Photo Corners Punch #109042.  Using Red Line Tape or the tape you can buy with your Scor-Pal, I lined up the tape into the center of the smaller photo corner, pulled off the top and sprinkled with the glitter, using my fingers to smash it down onto the tape.  Tap off and adhere to larger photo corner and then set aside.

I then took my Night of Navy base card and added the 3 stripes with 2 different sizes of Red Line Tape and sprinkled with glitter.  Next I added a layer of Going Gray and Basic Gray.

Next I punched out all my snowflakes with the Jumbo Snowflake Punch #116628.  Using a Stampin Dimensional (pop dot) adhere that to the center of your card.  Now, using 2 more of your stamped/punched snowflakes, cut out each spoke.  Using a clear dot, adhere one cut spoke, in-between each snowflake spoke and right behind the spokes already there from the first image, right onto the base of your card.  Your center snowflake will cover those adhesive dots.

PPA 27 (3)I finished the center of my snowflake using my small Martha Snowflake punch, by punching it out on Night of Navy CS and spraying the front using, a can of Spray Adhesive, moving that image to clean pc of scrap paper and sprinkling with the Fine Silver Glitter.  I let this dry and pop dotted it to the top of my Snowflake Image and added a adhesive backed Silver Gem. I think it turned out pretty cool.  If you don’t have Martha’s Snowflake Punch, use Snowflakes Set 2 Sizzlets Die #113449.  I haven’t gotten it yet, but its on my list.

I used the last snowflake image for the inside of my card...PPA 27 (4)Its not to late to order the Simple Snowflake Stamp #115554 with the matching Jumbo Snowflake Punch #116628 and play in the glitter, too.  *smile*  I hope you enjoyed my Snowflake Card I made for the PPA and hope you’ll play too.

“Quick ‘n Easy” Cards for Guys and Gals

Hello everyone.  I’ve been working on some quick and easy cards for guys, gals, kids.  One simple layout for anyone.  I like them, I hope you do.  The directions for the basic card is at the end of this post.  Just copy and paste.  You can choose whatever Designer Series Paper would like... so simple.  I made these 12 cards in a flash, using the Assembly Line method.  Let me know what you think.  The guys cards are on the left and gals on the right side.Quick n Easy (8) Quick n Easy (3) Quick n Easy (4) Quick n Easy (5) Quick n Easy (6) Quick n Easy (7) I rarely use the In-Colors, and I love them.  So my idea was to create Quick and Easy Cards for everyone using the In-Colors.  You could easily substitute Tall Tales DSP and any stamp set for the above.  Your imagination is your only limitation.  *smile*

This is such a easy way to use up your DSP scraps too.  Here’s the inside of the cards, they are all the same.

Mojo Monday 112

I decided to play along with Mojo Monday today.  Here’s the sketch...Mojo122Sketch

I chose to use the Shades of Love DSP and to turn my card the other way.  Mojo112 Mojo112 (2)I love playing at Mojo Mondays, just seems Monday is such a busy day for me after working the weekend.  Thankfully I was off this past weekend, first one in a long, long time.  But I did find out what I knew all along, its just another day and there is absolutely nothing on TV.

Well here’s my supplies...

Stamps: Happy Moments SAB   119125
Happy Birthday Frame Retired (inside Sentiment)
Paper: White Cardstock
Orchid Opulence Cardstock
Pretty in Pink Cardstock
Shades of Spring DSP  117160
Ink: Black Stazon
Punches: Small Oval  107304
Wide Oval  112082
Word Window 105090
Scallop Trim Border  118402
Misc: White Candy Dots and Lavender Gems
Oval Nestiblilities

I didn’t color in the flowers, I decided to also stamp the image on the polka dot paper to match the little strip around the pink section, and just cut out the flowers.  I added a little shading, of course with the Orchid Opulence Marker.

Hope you enjoy.  Hugs,

Envelope Liner Tutorial

I’ve had a few requests for this tutorial.  Its not mine, by any means, but here’s my version...  Envelope Liner Tutorial (2)  Grab your envelope and DSPEnvelope Liner Tutorial (4)Trim you DSP so it will slide down into your envelope with ease.  The piece above is just a tad over 5 1/2” by 4”  Your length only has to slip past the opening, it doesn’t have to slip all the way to the base of the envelope.

Envelope Liner Tutorial (6)

Turn over your envelope and trace around the flap.  You can just line up the top edge of the flap to top edge of the DSP and just trace the sides. Envelope Liner Tutorial (7)

You can barely see my pencil lines in the above photo, on each upper edge.  I usually try to line up the top of my paper to the top of the flap.  But some flaps are rounded and you will have to trace the entire flap. Envelope Liner Tutorial (8)  Now trim the around the flap and slip it back into your envelope, lining it up, right under the adhesive on the envelope.

Envelope Liner Tutorial (9)

Now that your DSP is in the correct place, fold the flap down.  This is so the DSP will have the same crease. Envelope Liner Tutorial (10)Now open it back up, leaving the DSP right where it is.  Envelope Liner Tutorial (12)

Add adhesive to the edges and to the top of your flap only.  See below.  You don’t want adhesive anywhere else, or it could buckle.Envelope Liner Tutorial (13)

Envelope Liner Tutorial (14)Now fold your envelope flap back down onto your DSP.   Any thats it.

Envelope Liner Tutorial

I hope you get lots of use of this little liner.  You could always make one out of the Window Sheets/Clear Cardstock (114323 Med thickness or 114324 Thick) to keep as a template.

Enjoy...
