“Quick ‘n Easy” Cards for Guys and Gals

Hello everyone.  I’ve been working on some quick and easy cards for guys, gals, kids.  One simple layout for anyone.  I like them, I hope you do.  The directions for the basic card is at the end of this post.  Just copy and paste.  You can choose whatever Designer Series Paper would like... so simple.  I made these 12 cards in a flash, using the Assembly Line method.  Let me know what you think.  The guys cards are on the left and gals on the right side.Quick n Easy (8) Quick n Easy (3) Quick n Easy (4) Quick n Easy (5) Quick n Easy (6) Quick n Easy (7) I rarely use the In-Colors, and I love them.  So my idea was to create Quick and Easy Cards for everyone using the In-Colors.  You could easily substitute Tall Tales DSP and any stamp set for the above.  Your imagination is your only limitation.  *smile*

This is such a easy way to use up your DSP scraps too.  Here’s the inside of the cards, they are all the same.

  1. Card Base is Whisper White,  8 1/2 by 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4  (with opening down).
  2. Cut a piece of DSP to 4 3/4 by 2 1/4.
  3. Cut a piece of ribbon to 5 1/2” long and wrap around DSP, tape edges to the back side.
  4. Adhere this piece to the bottom third of your card, *see photo for placement*
  5. Cut a piece of white cardstock for you sentiment to 2 by 2 1/2.  Stamp sentiment in color to match DSP.
  6. Layer sentiment in step 5 to a piece of Colored Cardstock 2 1/4 by 2 1/2, adhere to card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  *see photo’s for placement*
  7. Add 3 gems to center/bottom of your card and 3 to the top left.  *see photo for placement*

Inside of Gals...

  1. Stamp your Happy Birthday Sentiment onto White Cardstock and punch out with your Small Oval Punch, layering onto a piece of Colored Cardstock punched with your Large Oval Punch and adhere both to the center of the inside of the card.
  2. Stamp your butterfly, with matching ink, right onto the cardstock, do a practice one first so you get a feel for the pressure you need on the stamp. Tip:  I chose this stamp, so I would not have to use the Stamp-a-ma-jig... with this, close is good.  Or you could use one of the new clear stamps.
  3. Add three little gems to the right of the card and onto the Butterfly’s body.

Guys Card...

  1. Using Colored Cardstock as your base, cut at 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 and score at 4 1/4.  With opening on the bottom...
  2. Cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, 5 by 2 1/2.  This is the mat for the next step.
  3. Cut a piece of DSP 4 3/4 by 2 1/4 and layer onto Step 2.
  4. Cut a strip of your base color cardstock to 1/2 by 5.
  5. Position your 1/2” by 5” piece onto Step 3, in the center, and adhere on each end with a brad.   *see photo for exact placement*  I just eyeballed them.  I rarely measure.
  6. Cut a piece of white cardstock for the sentiment to 2 by 2 1/2.  Stamp sentiment in color to match DSP.
  7. Layer sentiment in step 5 to a piece of Colored Cardstock 2 1/4 by 2 1/2, adhere to card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  *see photo’s for placement*

Inside of Manly Card,

  1. Stamp Happy Birthday Sentiment onto Whisper White Cardstock and layer onto a matching piece of Designer Series Paper from the Front punched out with your Large Oval Punch.  Adhere to center of your card.

Add a ‘Touch of Class’ to your envelope with either of the Envelope Tutorials on my Sidebar under Tutorials and your ready to drop these in the mail.  Perfect for a co-worker, friend of a friend, or anyone on your list.  Tip:  You could quickly change out the stamps and have Quick and Easy Thank You’s on hand.Quick n Easy (12)As you can see, I even included a Melon Mambo for a guy... some men can do pink!  I am sending mine to my husbands brother.  *smile*  I hope you enjoyed my quick and easy cards today.  If you have any questions about the directions, please email me or leave me a comment below.  Please remember to check back or subscribe to the comments if you leave a question.
